OTRR Destination Freedom Singles

(4 Sterne; 1 Bewertungen)

DESTINATION FREEDOM Destination Freedom (1948) Brian Kavanaugh Destination Freedom is perhaps the best-known Black old-time radio series, despite only airing on Chicago’s WMAQ and never being fully sponsored throughout its duration. This is in part due to transcription disks for three-quarters of the episodes being discovered in the early 1980s and circulated among old-time radio fans, which helped inspire additional interest and research into the show. However, the powerful – and radical, particularly for the times – storytelling of Richard Durham, combined with the quality ensemble performing these episodes make them well worth revisiting. This is the Single Episodes Page. The Maintained Set includes extras not found here. It is located here . This Single Episodes page is provided in case you want to sample the shows. Note that in many cases, file names have been modified from the original OTRR names to conform to archive.org naming requirements.

This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.

Who's Who

(4 Sterne)

Great program ... but it's a shame the episode names don't give a clue to the person being profiled. This episode list at Wikipedia ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Destination_Freedom ) bridges the gap.
