This second volume of International Short Stories gathers short fiction by writers from England and elsewhere in the British Isles. The anthology includes stories by William Thackeray, Charles Dickens, Rudyard Kipling, and J. M. Barrie, alongside work by other authors.

The selections range across historical fiction, science fiction, melodrama, and philosophical writing. Rather than following a single plot or style, the collection offers a varied introduction to the subjects and approaches found in British short fiction.
